Kid Works is providing a summer camp program for school aged children that includes daily activities, arts and crafts and field trips. This schedule will be for kids 6 thru 12 (some exceptions in age may be accepted depending on maturity level of child. This is up to the discretion of the staff).
We would like to start off by welcoming everyone to the 2014 Kid Works summer program. This year we have planned a fun filled summer including field trips, water play, weekly themed activities and so much more.
Please make sure your child brings a water bottle, sunscreen and a lunch (not heatable lunches in the summer please).
Each child has been sent home with a summer packet which included: Emergency contact forms, permission slips for all field trips and a summer criteria sheet.
Please make sure your child is signed up prior to field trip days. There will be sign up sheets located in the foyer and in the Jungle classroom.
On these days please make sure your child has the following: a cold lunch (please no lunches that need to be heated), sunscreen, a water bottle that is labeled with child’s name and money for certain field trips. If your child is not signed up prior they will not be able to participate. Some field trips may be split do to transportation and/or staffing.
This year we would like to do a can food drive and get the kids involved with the community. Food boxes will be located in the foyer and classrooms. Once boxes are filled we will deliver them to shelters. If this
is a success we may possibly do a clothing drive later this year.
We will also be collecting clean tin cans for a school project. REDUCE REUSE RECYLE! These can be dropped off in the kitchen area at the center or given to one of the teachers.
We will be planning an “END OF SUMMER” party at the end of August;
theme is still to be determined. We will be collecting “pop” cans to help
contribute to the cost. Parents will be updated on the event throughout the summer. We look forward to the fun filled summer we have planned for the kids this year and can’t wait to get started!
